AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Man Arrested on Drug and Weapons Charges After Threatening Officers with Loaded Handgun

Police arrested a Copiague man for drugs and weapons charges after he threatened officers with a loaded handgun.

Suffolk County Police arrested a Copiague man for drugs  and weapons charges after he threatened officers with a loaded handgun.
 
Following an anonymous tip and subsequent investigation, Suffolk County Police Narcotics Section detectives, with the assistance of Emergency Service Section officers, the First Squad Special Operations Team, Criminal Intelligence  Section, and First Precinct Community Support Unit officers, executed a search warrant at the home of Cory Tyson, located at 110 44th Street, at  approximately 6 a.m.
 
When police entered the home, Tyson pointed a loaded illegal 9 MM semi-automatic handgun at Emergency Service Officers and refused numerous police directives to put the weapon down. After several minutes, Tyson complied and was taken into custody without further incident. Inside the home, officers recovered three additional illegal 9 MM handguns, one illegal 9 MM polymer P80 ghost gun, three illegal assault weapons, two shotguns, and six high-capacity ammunition devices.
 
Additionally, 20 grams of cocaine, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and a digital scale were all seized.
 
Tyson, 40, was charged with three counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd  Degree, Criminal Possession of Narcotics 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, nine counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, and Menacing a Police Officer with a Firearm.
 
Tyson is being held overnight at the First Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip in November 5.
