Man Arrested for DWI After Striking Two Pedestrians in Bay Shore Vehicle Crash, Cops Say

SCPD arrested Carlos Lopez of Deer Park, 33, for DWI after his vehicle struck two pedestrians in Bay Shore on Saturday, November 4.

Bay Shore, NY - November 6, 2017 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a Deer Park man for driving while intoxicated after his vehicle struck two pedestrians in Bay Shore on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 3:20 a.m.
 
A group of people were gathered in the parking lot of 2175 Union Boulevard, when one of the people, Carlos Lopez, attempted to leave in his 2014 Dodge pickup and struck Kenneth Rosario in the parking lot at approximately 3:20 a.m. Lopez continued driving and struck a building in the parking lot and then struck his brother Edgar Lopez. The vehicle continued through a fence and then struck a storage trailer, located at 2177 Union Boulevard.
 
Carlos Lopez, Edgar Lopez and Rosario were transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore. Rosario, 41, of Deer Park, and Carlos Lopez were treated and released. Edgar Lopez, 31, of Deer Park, was admitted in serious condition.
 
Carlos Lopez, 33, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. He was held overnight at the Third Precinct for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
