The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of two individuals for a Robbery that occurred on Monday, November 6, 2023 at 5:21 p.m. in Valley Stream.
According to detectives, officers responded to a larceny in progress at the Target located at 500 West Sunrise Highway. Upon arrival a Target Asset Protection Specialist pointed out a juvenile defendant to officers.
Officers witnessed the juvenile defendant pass all points of purchase without making an attempt to render payment with items he did not have permission to take. The defendant proceeded to push a shopping cart into the Asset Protection Specialist as he fled. Officers were able to place defendant into custody shortly after.
During the investigation it was discovered that the juvenile defendant was working in concert with Jamal Reid, 20, of Laurelton, who was also placed into custody at the scene. The two defendants had also committed a previous larceny at the location two hours earlier.
The juvenile male defendant is charged with Robbery 2nd degree and Petit Larceny. Defendant Jamal Reid is charged with Robbery 2nd degree and Petit Larceny. Both defendants were arraigned on November 7, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street Hempstead.
