Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone has announced that the Suffolk County Department of Labor, Licensing and Consumer Affairs will host a series of upcoming career exploration events. Jobseekers and residents looking for a change in career or new employment opportunities are encouraged to attend.
“November is ‘National Career Development Month’ and Suffolk County is excited to provide online career exploration events suitable for entrepreneurs, jobseekers, and anyone exploring a career change,” said Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone. “Additionally, I am proud to say that in 2022 Suffolk served the largest total number of job fair participants and with a diverse array of companies representing in-demand hiring there is no better time than now to attend a Suffolk County job fair.”
In 2022, the Suffolk County Department of Labor hosted its largest total number of job fairs and career exploration events (56) and served the largest total number of job fair participants since any time before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rosalie Drago, SCDOLLCA Commissioner said: "There are over 15,000 job openings in Suffolk County currently posted online. Employers regularly interview for these positions at Suffolk County job fairs and many hire on the spot. There are opportunities for people with high school diplomas, certificates, and degrees. Regardless of your experience or background there is a good paying job waiting for you in Suffolk County.
