Jon Dignam, the Long Islander who created a massively popular Google map with hundreds of homes decorated for the holidays, told LongIsland.com that the LI Lights Map got over 3.4 million views last year. Each house in the map has a picture and he said it is “super easy to use.”
He is also looking for help building out the list again for 2023.
“Trying to get a head start on the LI Lights Map,” he wrote on Facebook. “Please complete the submission form below so that I can update your photo and info. Thank you already if you completed the form this week. Much appreciated.”
You can access that submission form here.
On the form’s landing page he writes:
LI Lights Map is a map of great holiday houses that are decked out for Christmas. Every house has pictures and the map comes with a very handy spreadsheet. Keeping track of hundreds of houses is quite time consuming. Filling out the form will help save a lot of time and will help ensure your display stays on the map. Each year I delete a bunch of houses that have not been verified. No need to log into your Google account, just fill it out and submit. The map has over 4.4 million views! If you need to be removed from the map please text (631) 503-1646.
Dignam encourages new submissions to the comprehensive map of homes decorated for the holidays.
There is also a Google spreadsheet that lists all of the homes organized by town.
“There are a lot of houses that need to be verified so assistance is needed,” Dignam said in an online post. “This is a yearly community project that I run. The success of this map is due to so many nice people taking a moment to share some info or pictures.”
