Road resurfacing work on more than two miles of Jerusalem Avenue in Uniondale and Hempstead Village is underway, Nassau County Legislator Kevan M. Abrahams (D - Freeport) has announced.
The project, which is expected to be completed by the end of November (weather permitting) encompasses a span of Jerusalem Avenue, starting in Hempstead at Henry Street and concluding at the west side of the Meadowbrook Parkway overpass in Uniondale. The road work will occur during daytime hours, Nassau County Department of Public Works officials said.
Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes during the duration of the project.
“Resurfacing this heavily traveled portion of Jerusalem Avenue will benefit the communities that rely upon it by stimulating economic activity, improving quality of life, and making this roadway safer for all who use it,” Legislator Abrahams said. “I look forward to working with residents and community leaders to identify more opportunities for vital infrastructure investments throughout the First Legislative District.”
