Suffolk County, NY - November 12th, 2013 - In an open letter to Suffolk County residents, Legislator Sarah Anker thanks locals for her re-election.
Dear Residents of the Sixth District:
I am truly grateful for your support in re-electing me as your Suffolk County Legislator. I’m looking forward to continuing the many projects I’ve facilitated including the Rails to Trails bike and pedestrian path, helping our young adults find local jobs and affordable housing, protecting our seniors, advocating for our environment, supporting fiscally responsible measures to get our County out of debt, and promoting financial stability through economic growth.
This election provided proof that voters will look beyond political labels to focus on the issues at hand. Whatever your political affiliation may be and whoever you may have voted for, please remember that I have been re-elected to represent my community and will continue to be a strong voice for my community.
Having been raised in a military family, I was taught at an early age the value of public service and to hold the commitment of our servicemen and women with honor. Additionally, to recognize the citizens who put their own lives at risk to protect and keep our country safe including our firefighters, public safety workers and police. America is a strong nation and we must continue to work together with a vision to strengthen our future so our children can continue the legacy of liberty, strength and prosperity.
If I can provide you with assistance or answer any questions you may have, please do not hesitate to contact my office. I’m looking forward to serving my community for another two years!
Sincerely,
Sarah Anker
Suffolk County Legislator, Sixth District
