N. Bellmore, NY - November 12, 2016 - First Squad detectives report the arrest of a N. Bellmore man for an incident that occurred on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 3:15 pm in N. Bellmore.
According to detectives, Jacob Guzman, 18, of North Bellmore was observed by a group of youths spray painting graffiti on the Newbridge Road School, 1601 Newbridge Road. His actions prompted the youths to call 911.
As First Precinct officers responded to the scene and observed the graffiti, which included the words “Fuck the Police”, “Flushtown”, “Flushing”, “162 St”, “163 St”, “$mt”, as well as discarded spray cans, they heard an alarm sounding at the N. Bellmore School Districts Facilities Management Building, which is a separate building across the schoolyard. Upon arrival at that location officers noticed that an access door had been kicked in, entered the building and observed Guzman inside. He was then placed under arrest without further incident. In his possession were several sets of keys belonging to the facility, a “Dragon Fly” jewelry pin that belonged to a building employee and a small amount of Marihuana.
A subsequent investigation revealed that Guzman was responsible for numerous prior incidents involving graffiti to businesses and a private home in the N. Bellmore/ Bellmore area utilizing the same wording and quotes.
Guzman is charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, three (3) counts of Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, four (4) counts of Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, four (4) counts of Criminal Mischief 4th Degree and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. He will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 11/12/2016.
