Romaine, SCPD, Officials to Introduce New Canine Assigned to Patrol Long Island Macarthur Airport
Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine will join Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Suffolk County Police Acting Commissioner Robert Waring at Long Island MacArthur Airport to introduce the department’s newest canine, assigned exclusively to the airport.
Trisko II, a 2-year-old golden retriever/labrador mix, completed three months of training, specializing in explosives detection.
Trisko II was donated by Canine Companions, a national nonprofit organization that provides service dogs to adults, children, and veterans with disabilities. During his initial training, it was determined Trisko II possessed a high drive, making him unsuitable for the Canine Companions program.
