Mineola, NY - November 14, 2015 - Nassau County Police Benevolent Association President James Carver wishes today to reassure hundreds of worried callers that about 30 officers currently visiting France as members of the Holy Name Society are safe, a day after ISIS terrorists brutally attacked Paris.
The Nassau Police Holy Name Society is currently visiting Paris, Caen, Normandy Beaches, Rouen, Chartres, Le Mont St. Michael and Lisieux. The non profit organization travels there every year as part of a pilgrimage. The Holy Name Society and the PBA are separate organizations, but many officers are members of the Society and travel on Society trips.
Carver said, “After yesterday's brutal attack, local residents have been calling me to check on the safety of the cops that belong to the Holy Name Society and are currently in France. The group is safe and wishes to thank those who have inquired about them. They wish to state that they, along with all others, stand 100 percent behind the brave people of France. All of our hearts go out to the families of the victims of this outrageous and cowardly attack on innocent citizens enjoying a fall Friday night out." The attack on Paris has left at least 140 people dead.
