Police: Westbury Man Falsely Claims His SUV Stolen, Arrested for Insurance Fraud

New York, NY - November 15, 2017 - Third Squad detectives report the details of an arrest for insurance fraud that occurred in Westbury on Monday, 10/30/17 at 1:50 P.M.
 
According to detectives, Amidullh Popal, 26, of Westbury, falsely reported his 2005 Ford Explorer stolen, from in front of his residence on the above listed date and time.
 
Third Squad detectives placed Popal under arrest on Tuesday, 11/14/17 at his residence. He is being charged with Insurance Fraud 5th Degree, False Written Statement and will be arraigned on Wednesday, 11/15/17 in First District Court, Hempstead.
