New Cassel Man in Custody After Stabbing Victim During Argument, Cops Say

The Third Squad reports the arrest of a New Cassel man for an Assault that occurred on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 3:40 pm in New Cassel.
 
According to Detectives, two males had an argument in the vicinity of 154 Swalm Street. The dispute escalated and the subject reached into his pocket, removed a knife and then stabbed the male victim, 19, in the left forearm. Officers responded and located the victim. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation.  
 
A thorough investigation was conducted and Samuel Charles, 67, of 154 Swalm Street was arrested without incident.
 
Defendant Charles is charged with Assault 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at First District Court, Hempstead.
