New York State Troopers said that there were no injuries in an accident last night involving six vehicles on the eastbound Northern State Parkway just to the west of Exit 37.
The pileup occurred around 6:15pm with one car ending up fully underneath another vehicle. By 7pm, firefighters and emergency personnel had already been on scene with multiple emergency vehicles on hand to redirect traffic.
Passengers from the vehicle were seen on the side of the road and traffic was backed up in the eastbound lane for miles.
The accident occurred right near the offramp where the northbound Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway (NYS Route 135) lets on to the Northern State Parkway.
New York State Police confirmed that no injuries were reported and were awaiting more information from reports. We will update this story as more information becomes available.
