LuminoCity Festival (LuminoCity) and Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, are thrilled to announce that the enchanting holiday extravaganza that captivated hearts in 2022 is making a triumphant return to East Meadow, and the 2023 Holiday Lights Festival will yet again illuminate Eisenhower Park from Nov. 9, 2023 through Jan.7, 2024. The magical ‘Wonder Journey’ theme of this year’s festival promises to create unforgettable memories once again for families and friends. It will run Thursday through Monday from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m.

"We are thrilled to return to Long Island this fall for our 2023 Holiday Lights Festival. After four years, and our growth in visitors just not locally but throughout the Northeast, we are confident that we will see both new and familiar faces at this year’s event,” said Xiaoyi Chen, founder of LuminoCity. “This festival brings an immersive and mesmerizing journey through the heartwarming spirit of the holidays, with social media moments for influencers, Tik Tokers and all ages, from our array of our stunning light displays, interactive art installations, delicious seasonal treats, and a festive atmosphere. It warms even the chilliest of winter nights and is the perfect setting to create cherished memories with loved ones.”

LuminoCity’s Wonder Journey will include 53 experiences that celebrate the holiday season and more. One new and immersive experience that visitors will enjoy are from the beloved children’s story, “Alice in Wonderland,” where guests of all ages will encounter iconic scenes from the Wonderland Tea Party to the iconic butterfly seat and a life-sized Queen’s Castle where adults and children can slide down the Queen of Heart’s massive slide. Another new addition to the festival is the highly anticipated underwater experience that’s truly enchanting and showcases stunning displays of local underwater sea creatures designed by local children in the area.

Additional highlights at this year's festival include:

  • The “Wonder Journey” theme, with breathtaking large-scale light art displays and attractions, that’s sure to create an unforgettable holiday experience with friends and families.
  • Multiple Illuminating sculptures that make up Jocelyn’s Garden and Chiaozza’s Forest and are designed internationally renowned artists Jocelyn Tsaih, whose work has been featured in museums such as MoMa in San Francisco and Chiaozza, whose work has also been showcased at Coachella
  • The partnership with the Long Island Children's Museum to add a creative educational touch, making the underwater experience a fantastic family-friendly attraction.

“At Long Island Children’s Museum, we seek out community collaborations that offer our visitors unique opportunities to showcase their creativity as they learn about cultural traditions,” noted LICM President Erika Floreska.  “We’re excited that thousands of families will be able to see our visitors’ ideas realized as 3-D lanterns during the festival.”  The collaboration between LuminoCity and LICM includes a concurrent exhibit at LICM detailing the process of turning 2-D drawings into the illuminated lanterns on display and exploring the art of lantern making.

The new light sculptures in Wonder Journey’s Mystical Jellyfish Forest, Ship & Dolphin Lagoon, Giant Whale Tail, Imaginary Sea Creature and Fiddler Crab were designed by children that participated in the Long Island Children’s Museum’s hands-on workshop where participants were introduced to the history and process of lantern before making their own unique, mash-up creature drawing. In collaboration with LuminoCity, participants’ 2-D artwork was submitted for a chance to have it brought to life as a 3-D light sculpture featured on display at the 2023 LuminoCity Festival. Winners range from ages five to 11 years old. And for those who can't get enough, the anticipation for the museum's 2024 exhibit promises an even deeper dive into the mesmerizing world beneath the waves.

"I am thrilled to welcome back LuminoCity's Holiday Lights Festival in Nassau County's Eisenhower Park for the 2023 winter season. This breathtaking exhibit and art spectacular attracts tens of thousands of visitors from across Long Island and gives a nice boost to our local economy. Whether you're a Nassau resident or just visiting with friends and family, I invite everyone to check out this one-of-a-kind family fun experience and explore our vibrant downtown areas. " said Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman.

Chen added, “We are incredibly grateful for our partners – Nassau County and Long Island Children’s Museum – and look forward to continuing to make magical memories here.”

In addition to the East Meadow location, LuminoCity will launch two other holiday festivals in new markets.
