Suffolk OTB President & CEO Phil Boyle met with Board Members of Women & Men Against Prostate Cancer in Bay Shore to present a $10,428.00 check from donations collected from Jake’s 58 Casino players through its “Donate Your Change Program."
The “Donate Your Change” program gives Jake's 58 casino patrons the option to donate their excess change to designated nonprofits when cashing out their winnings.
Suffolk OTB President and CEO Phil Boyle said, “We at Suffolk OTB and Jake's 58 Casino are proud to support an impactful organization such as Women & Men Against Prostate Cancer. We are so pleased that these generous donations from our players will promote early detection of prostate cancer and provide needed support to the victims of this disease and their families."
Lisa Pace, Board Member, Women & Men Against Prostate Cancer said, “Women & Men is a very important group as men do not discuss their health, especially this kind of exam. The exam and early detection will save lives. This cancer is survivable with early detection.”
Women & Men Against Prostate Cancer is a coalition of experts from the healthcare, business, and fundraising sectors of Long Island working towards improving and expanding treatment options for prostate cancer. Their goal is to further education efforts, generate legislative action in support of prostate cancer research and treatment while also increasing awareness of the disease.
Thanks to the generosity of Jake’s 58 customers, Women & Men Against Prostate Cancer will be able to use these funds for free screenings and symptom awareness events.
