With locations all over New York City (and New Jersey), Yaya Tea has opened the doors to its first Long Island spot in Hicksville.

Specializing in onigiri - AKA riceball - a handheld Japanese snack that is made to order. Wrapped in nori (seaweed), the riceball stays crispy until it's ready to eat.

“Onigiri is a popular Japanese snack that is convenient, handheld and delicious,” Yaya Tea says on its website.

The variety of onigiri on the menu is almost limitless. Get them with chicken, crabmeat, salmon, shrimp tempura, and even spam. They also have vegan options. Of course they also offer a number of fruit, milk, and brewed teas.

On Yelp, Brenda gave Yaya Tea five stars.

“So excited that YaYA opened in Hicksville. Grew up eating their rice ball and fruit tea in Chinatown,” she write. “Never disappointed. My favorite is the YaYa shrimp and first love. The owner and the people working there are super nice and welcoming. The place is also very cute. And they sell rice ball plush and some Asian snack. Can't wait to go back.”

Xining Z, agreed.

“This is my third time to stop by yaya tea in Hicksville,” she wrote. “Cool store and warm vibes.”
