Two William Floyd High School students were recently selected to participate in this year’s Suffolk County Music Educator’s (SCMEA) All-County Tuba and Euphonium Ensemble held at Central Islip High School! Senior Isiah Owens and sophomore Kolton Chamberlain, under the direction of their music teachers Garry Helbock and Kimberly Hyland, earned this honor based on director recommendations which highlighted their outstanding musical accomplishments, including an A+ rating on their level 6 NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) solos last spring!

Isiah and Kolton performed with the SCMEA All-County Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble and had the opportunity to work with guest artist and internationally-renowned musician Lance LaDuke, an associate teaching professor in euphonium at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Music. They also performed in the concert finale as part of a mass tuba and euphonium ensemble! Congratulations, Isiah and Kolton on this wonderful achievement!
