Malverne Senior Killed in West Hempstead Car Crash

West Hempstead, NY - November 22nd, 2014 - The Homicide Squad reports the details of a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 5:15 p.m. in West Hempstead.
 
According to detectives, a female driver, 81 was operating a 2003 Acura as she exited the CVS located at 814 Hempstead Avenue on to Eagle Avenue. While heading west on Eagle Avenue she lost control of the car causing it to mount the curb and travel back into the parking lot where she struck two park cars. The Acura continues to travel out of control across Hempstead Avenue where it comes to rest after striking a tree. The male passenger, Henry Gugumuck, 87 of Malverne was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.
 
The driver was admitted to another local hospital in serious condition with head and neck injuries. The vehicle was impounded for brake and safety checks. There is no criminality suspected at this time.
