Boatswain Mate First Class Patrick Rogers, 34, of the United States Coast Guard and his fiancée, Jessica Peters, 30, of Sayville tied the knot on Sunday, November 12 in honor of Veterans Day.
Patrick Rogers, of Manorville, is currently serving aboard the Cutter KEY LARGO, out of Gloucester, MA. Patrick has served in the United States Coast Guard for the past 13 years and has received more than 15 honors and awards throughout his military career, including a Commendation for his part in rescue and recovery efforts during the 2009 Hudson River plane crash.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the vendors that gave their time and services for this great cause. The flowers, photography, music, and food – just to name a few – were absolutely incredible,” said Patrick. “I loved how all the vendors came together to put together such a great day.”
Jessica, who works as a producer for the Telecare network, added this about the couple’s special day.
“Each and every vendor donation, whether it was someone's time or a contribution big or small meant the world to us and we are so grateful for the generosity that helped make our wedding day more than we ever could've imagined,” said Jessica. “We hope that the entire Veterans Day Wedding Giveback reminds us all of the selfless love in this world – shown through the participating vendors, and our military that keep our communities safe.”
Sponsored by Peconic Landing, the annual Veterans Day Wedding Giveback began in 2011 as an opportunity to thank our military personnel and recognize them for their service. Now in its sixth year, it has become a community affair, made possible through sponsorship and contributions from local businesses and organizations who donate the time, talents and services that help to make the dream day a reality.
“We would like to wish Patrick and Jessica congratulations on their marriage, and a lifetime of happiness moving forward,” said Robert J. Syron, President and CEO of Peconic Landing. “I would also like to thank the many sponsors and business partners for their support. This would not be possible without you.”

Stacey Kaufmann of the Cold Spring Harbor-based Dear Stacey Wedding Photography captured images of the special day.
“Each vendor went above and beyond to make their day magical. I'm so grateful to experience and witness so much joy, love, and happiness; not only with the couple but with their family and friends,” Ms. Kaufmann said. “My service was donated to honor and observe all Veterans who are our great nations heroes. Their endless sacrifice to protect and serve is something that should be recognized as often as possible.”
Chris Richards of East End Events Catering and CJ’s Place of Mattituck said “my father was in the Coast Guard and my brother was in the Navy. To be able to give back in this way meant a lot to us. We had five staff members, and a chef volunteer to help us and they did a great job. This was about giving.”
