AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Marcelo Sanchez Hidalgo, 36, is charged with Assault 2nd degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Harassment 2nd degree.

The Third Squad reports on the arrest of a Queens man for the Assault on an Officer that occurred on November 21, 2022 at 9:55 PM in East Meadow. 
 
According to Detectives, a 36-year-old female and her seven-year-old daughter were waiting near the bus stop outside of NUMC, located at 2201 Hempstead Turnpike, when defendant Marcelo Sanchez Hidalgo, 36 of 108-11 35th Avenue, Corona, approached them. 
 
Defendant Marcelo began to verbally and physically harass the child. The mother took her child and went into NUMC, where a Lynbrook Police Officer was inside. The Officer located and placed defendant Marcelo under arrest without further incident and was transported to the Third Precinct. 
 
During the arrest processing, defendant Marcelo attacked a Nassau County Police Officer and bit him on the right arm, causing substantial pain and swelling. The Officer and defendant Marcelo were both transported to a nearby hospital for assessment and treatment.
 
Defendant Marcelo Sanchez Hidalgo is charged with Assault 2nd degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Harassment 2nd degree. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
