North Amityville, NY - November 27, 2015 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a Centereach man for robbing a woman while she was pumping gas at a North Amityville gas station last night.

Billy McMahon displayed a pellet gun and robbed a woman of cash while she was pumping gas at Citgo, located at 655 Broadway, at approximately 8:50 p.m. McMahon fled the scene on foot but was located a short distance away by responding First Precinct patrol officers.

First Squad detectives charged McMahon, 24, of 2 Esther Court, with Robbery 1^st Degree. He was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip today.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
