Huntington, NY - November 30, 2017 - On Monday, December 4th, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D – Long Island, Queens) will organize an “Aerospace and Defense Industry Supply Conference” aimed at helping this critical industry on Long Island grow and remain competitive. The event will bring international prime contractors from the aerospace and defense industry together with the local cluster of aerospace and defense contractors and suppliers that exist on the 495 Research Corridor on High-Tech Island.

New York’s Third Congressional District is the largest recipient of federal defense contracts in New York State, as are the hundreds of suppliers who are based on Long Island. Over 200 attendees representing over 150 companies that supply the nationwide aerospace and defense industry prime contractors will be in attendance.

The event will feature speakers from the Department of Defense and leading aerospace companies, including Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Eric Chewning, Patricia McMahon (Northrop Grumman), Camille Geiger (Boeing) and Dave Logan (BAE Systems).

“Right here on the 495 ‘research corridor,’ we have a vibrant high-tech cluster of innovative and progressive aerospace and defense suppliers. We need to make sure they remain competitive by ensuring they have access to the right tools so they can grow and expand. The history of innovation on Long Island is all around us, so I’m excited about the ideas and possibilities that could spring up by bringing everyone together for this conference,” said Rep. Suozzi.
