At approximately 6:58 a.m. on November 30th, 2023, the Riverhead Police Department received a 911 call for an unconscious male in the wooded area north of 981 West Main Street, Riverhead NY.
Upon the arrival of the Patrol Officers and members of the Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Squad it was determined that the male was deceased.
The Riverhead Town Detective Squad responded and along with a Physician Assistant from the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office determined that the death appears to be non-criminal in nature.
The death also appears not related to the recent colder temperatures. The deceased was removed to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office.
The name and the description of the deceased is being withheld until his next of kin is notified.
