AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. North Babylon Mom Arrested After DWI Crash with 2 Year-Old Daughter in Vehicle, Cops Say

SCPD have arrested Desiree Dubois of North Babylon, 27, for DWI with her child in her vehicle on Thursday, November 30.

North Babylon, NY - December 1, 2017 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a woman for driving under the influence of alcohol with her child in her vehicle following a motor vehicle crash in North Babylon on Thursday, November 30, 2017.
 
Desiree Dubois was driving a 1996 Nissan Maxima eastbound on Lombard Street at approximately 10:50 p.m. when she struck a parked vehicle, overturning the Maxima. Dubois’s 2-year-old son was in the vehicle, and he was not injured. He did not go to a hospital and was released to a family member. Dubois was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of minor injuries.
 
Dubois, 27, of North Babylon was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger 15 Years Old or Younger (Leandra’s Law), Driving While Intoxicated, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She is scheduled to be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.
