AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Police: Man Robbed in Front of Lawrence Residence of Over $380,000 in Jewelry

A jeweler returning home had a suitcase containing jewelry pulled from his hand by two unknown males who then fled, NCPD reports.

Lawrence, NY - December 1, 2017 - Fourth Squad detectives are investigating an incident that occurred on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 8:25 pm in Lawrence.
 
According to detectives, the victim, a jeweler by trade, after returning home from visiting numerous jewelry stores in the five boroughs of New York City and walking up to his front door rolling a suitcase containing approximately $380,000 worth of jewelry, had the bag pulled from his hand by two unknown males who then fled west on Marbridge Road towards Meadow Lane. He then observed them entering a minivan that was parked on Meadow Lane. After returning his car to follow the subjects, the victim lost sight of the vehicle.
 
The uninjured 51 year old was unable to further describe the subjects.
