AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING An Air Quality Health Advisory remains in effect for the following counties: Nassau and Suffolk. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a male who assaulted a female in a Patchogue bar in early November.

Patchogue, NY - December 2nd 2014 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a male who assaulted a female in a Patchogue bar in early November.

A female reported that she was selling flowers at the Latino Mix Bar Grill, located at 205 Medford Ave., Patchogue, on November 2, 2014 at approximately 3:30 a.m. The victim got into a dispute with an unknown male who punched her in the face, possibly with a sharp object in his hand, causing severe lacerations to her face and neck.

The male is described as Hispanic, late 30s, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, medium build, with short black hair and a goatee.

The victim was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where she was treated for her injuries.  

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
