Harbor Country Day School Marks Historic Groundbreaking for New Academic Wing Following Demolition of the Former Library Wing
Harbor Country Day School is pleased to announce the successful demolition of an outdated wing of its campus, paving the way for a state-of-the-art academic building designed to enhance the educational experience for generations of students. This milestone marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the school’s ongoing commitment to providing an innovative and inspiring environment for learning.
The demolition, which took place over the Thanksgiving holiday break, will be replaced by a new building that will include a new library, upper school classrooms, an art studio, a science lab, a STEAM center with robotics, a music room, and a gathering hall. As shared by Harbor’s Head of School, Andy Sperling, “These new facilities will allow us to amplify our mission and grow while honoring the history and traditions that have been a source of pride for generations of our students and alumni."
The groundbreaking ceremony, held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, was attended by current and former school administrators, board members, and project donors, all of whom are eager to witness the transformation of their school community. The event was a momentous occasion, marking the school's commitment to providing the best facilities for its growing academic and extracurricular programs.
