Where to Drop Letters to Santa on Long Island

As the holiday season approaches, the excitement of children and the spirit of giving come alive on Long Island. For youngsters eagerly anticipating a visit from the jolly man in the red suit, there's nothing quite like sending a heartfelt letter directly to Santa Claus himself. But the age-old question remains: Where exactly should those letters be sent to ensure they reach the North Pole in time for Christmas Eve?

 

Fear not, as we've curated a guide to help families navigate the enchanting task of mailing letters to Santa on Long Island. Get ready to secure your spot on the nice list and make your child's holiday dreams come true by discovering the perfect locations to dispatch those special messages to the big guy in the sleigh!

 

Nassau County Parks

 

Look for the Red & Green Santa Mailboxes at these Nassau County locations! Mailboxes will be accessible from 10:00am to 4:00pm daily at the administration buildings of these facilities:

  • CANTIAGUE PARK, West John Street, Hicksville
  • MACKEY PARK, Lakeview Drive & Washington Ave., Roosevelt
  • CHRISTOPHER MORLEY PARK, Searingtown Road, Roslyn - North Hills
  • EISENHOWER PARK, Administration Building, Aquatic Center, East Meadow
  • GRANT PARK, Broadway & Sheridan Ave., Hewlett
  • OLD BETHPAGE VILLAGE RESTORATION, Round Swamp Road, Old Bethpage
  • WANTAGH PARK, Merrick Road, Wantagh

The Nassau County Department of Parks, Recreation & Museums will forward letters to Santa at the North Pole - Postage Free. Letters received by December 15th with legible name and return address will be answered by Santa. For more information visit the Parks Department website at: www.nassaucountyny.gov/parks.

 

YOU CAN EMAIL SANTA AT: santaclaus@nassaucountyny.gov. Don't forget to include your name and full mailing address on all letters and emails.

 

Town of Islip

 

Calling all believers! Santa's Mailbox is here! Drop your wish list in the mailbox outside Islip Town Hall at 655 Main St. Islip and let Santa Claus know if you've been "naughty or nice. Santa starts packing up his sleigh on Christmas Eve, so be sure to place your letters in Santa's mailbox by Saturday, December 23th. Although Santa Claus is very busy, either he or his elves may want to send you a note when they return to the North Pole, so be sure to include your return address on each letter.

 

Town of Oyster Bay 

 

Children can send their holiday wish lists directly to Old St. Nick at the North Pole through a special network of Santa’s Mailboxes which arrived in Oyster Bay Town facilities from the North Pole.  Mailboxes will accept letters now through Friday, December 15th. The Town of Oyster Bay will forward letters to Santa at the North Pole. Letters received by Friday, December 15th with a legible name and return address will be answered by Santa before the holiday.  No postage is necessary.

Colorful red mailboxes will be accessible from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. daily at the following locations:

  • Town Hall North, 54 Audrey Avenue, Oyster Bay
  • Town Hall South, 977 Hicksville Road, Massapequa
  • Ice Skating Center, 1001 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage

US Postal Service

 

USPS Operation Santa is a much-beloved 110-year old program run by the U.S. Postal Service. To participate in the USPS Operation Santa program, you can write a letter to Santa and send it to: 123 Elf Road, North Pole, 88888. Include a return address.
