The Suffolk County Alliance of Chambers, a regional organization comprised of local chambers of commerce and other business alliances, donated a pair of bicycles to the Suffolk County Police Department.
According to a statement posted on Facebook by the SCPD, the bikes will be used to patrol and build relationships in Suffolk County’s downtowns and high foot trafficked areas. Commissioner Geraldine Hart, First Deputy Commissioner James Skopek along with Community Relations Bureau officers were on hand to accept the bicycles on behalf of the department from Gina Coletti and Bob Fonti, co-chairs of the Suffolk County Alliance of Chambers.
