Worker Trimming Tree Falls to His Death in Syosset

The worker was found not wearing protective gear or a harness. OSHA has been notified and is investigating safety issues.

Syosset, NY - December 8, 2015 - The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Serious Aided that occurred on Tuesday, December 08, 2015 at 10:15 am in Syosset.

According to detectives, Stephan Wright, 53, of Hempstead was trimming a tree in front of 15 Lorraine Street, when he fell out of a bucket truck (approximately 27 feet) striking the ground.  The victim was transported to Nassau University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased by emergency room staff.  The victim who was employed by A1 Tree and Shrub Service, Inc., Freeport was not wearing protective gear or a harness. 

OSHA was notified and is investigating safety issues.
