Tandy Jeckel’s boutique caused a splash earlier this year when it began offering fashion items for sale adapted to the need for face coverings during the pandemic. After having to shut down, the Commack business pivoted to online sales and stylish face masks became a hot seller.

While other retailers quickly followed suit, TandyWear took the next step and became one of the first boutiques on Long Island to recognize that if they had to wear a mask, women would want fashion-forward options incorporating the mask into a stylish top.

Her foresight and creativity has made her successful, despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, after ten years in business, Jeckel announced that she is expanding her boutique yet again.

Her newest venture, TandyGirl, will carry the latest in young contemporary fashions, with inclusive sizing from XS-2XL. Jeckel has expanded TandyWear’s existing location at 89 Commack Road, doubling the size of the space creating a store-within-a-store.

Jeckel began selling accessories and handbags over 25 years ago, working out of Christopher Street, a local hair salon. In 2010, she opened TandyWear’s first brick and mortar location. With TandyGirl and TandyWear together, women will now be able to share their shopping experience.

“We will offer the latest trends in fashion and be a one-stop-shop location for both mothers and daughters,” Jeckel said.
