Authorities Release Identity of 21-Year-Old Woman Tragically Killed by Truck While Crossing Old Country Road in Carle Place
The Homicide Squad have released the identity of the victim of a Fatal Vehicular Accident that occurred on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 5:32 a.m. in Carle Place.
According to Detectives, while attempting to cross Old Country Road, northbound, in the vicinity of Glen Cove Road, a female pedestrian, Mahiat Hossen of Bellrose, 21, was struck by a 2016 Mack Garbage truck that was traveling Eastbound on Old Country Road. Hossen suffered a catastrophic injury to her head and body.
She was pronounced deceased at 5:37 a.m. by a Nassau County Police Medic. No other injuries were reported and the operator remained at scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
