Police Investigating Serious Freeport Vehicular Accident that Left Pedestrian in Critical Condition

The Homicide Squad is investigating a Serious Vehicular Accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 7:09 p.m. in Freeport.
 
According to detectives, while attempting to cross Merrick Road in the vicinity Guy Lombardo Blvd., from the south side to the north side, a male pedestrian was struck by a 2006 Toyota Scion traveling eastbound on Merrick Road.  The male, 40, suffered trauma to his head and body. He was transported to an area hospital and is listed in critical condition.
 
The male operator, 27, remained at the scene.
 
The investigation is ongoing.
