Portman has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award for for Best Actress the 2023 drama "May December," which she stars in with fellow actress Julianne Moore.

Natalie Portman, the acclaimed Hollywood actress and former Long Islander, has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award, yet another in a long List of accolades that she has earned throughout her esteemed career.

While born in Israel in 1981, Portman and her family soon afterward moved to the United States, eventually settling down on Long Island in 1990, where she attended a Jewish elementary school, the Solomon Schechter Day School of Nassau County; she would later go on to graduate from Syosset High School in 1999.

On December 11, Portman, 42, was announced as having been nominated for a Golden Globe Award for for Best Actress the 2023 drama "May December," which she stars in with fellow actress Julianne Moore.

This honor goes hand-in-hand with number of other accomplishments that Portman has acquired over the years, including being nominated in 2004 for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and winning a Golden Globe for the romantic drama "Closer." Later, she would go on to win the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the 2010 psychological thriller "Black Swan."

Other notable films that Portman has starred in over the years include "Léon: The Professional" (1994), the "Star Wars" Prequel trilogy (1999, 2002, 2005), "V for Vendetta" (2005), "The Other Boleyn Girl" (2008), and the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero films "Thor" (2011), "Thor: The Dark World" (2013), and "Thor: Love and Thunder" (2022), which established her as one of the highest-paid actresses in the world.

Portman also attended Harvard University from 1999 to 2003, graduating with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
