AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING An Air Quality Health Advisory remains in effect for the following counties: Nassau and Suffolk. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Valley Stream, NY - December 14th, 2013 - The Robbery Squad reports the details of a bank robbery that occurred on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 1:05 P.M. in Valley Stream.
 
According to detectives, a male black suspect in his 30’s, 6’ tall with scruffy facial hair wearing a light colored pea coat and dark hooded shirt entered the Capital One Bank located at 356 N. Central Avenue and presented a robbery demand note to a teller.  The teller complied giving the suspect an undetermined amount of cash.  The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot northbound on N. Central Avenue then eastbound on Milford Street. There were eight employees and one customer present at the time of the robbery.  No injuries were reported.
