AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Man Arrested in Levittown Shortly After Attempted Burglary

A Levittown man was arrested after taking a large envelope the front porch of house.

Levittown, NY - December 17, 2013 - Second Squad detectives report the details of an arrest for attempted burglary and petit larceny that occurred in Levittown on Monday, 12/16/13 at 2:50 P.M.
 
According to detectives, Nitin Malhotra, 21, of 47 Miller Pl., Levittown, went to a residence on Elm Dr., took a large envelope that was on the porch area, and put it into his back pack.  The defendant then proceeded to the rear of the home, broke the screen to a window and fled the scene.  A witness then called the police.  Second Precinct Police officers located the defendant on Miller Place, with the proceeds, where he was placed under arrest.
 
Malhotra is being charged with Attempted Burglary 2nd Degree, Petit Larceny and will be arraigned on Tuesday, 12/17/13 in First District Court, Hempstead.
