Bellmore, NY - December 18th, 2013 - The Public Information Office reports the details of an auto accident which occurred on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 11:52 P.M. in Bellmore.

According to police, a fuel truck traveling eastbound on Sunrise Highway struck the rear of a vehicle stopped at a red light at Newbridge Road. The truck turned on its side and continued east on Sunrise, spilling fuel, coming to a stop at Brevoort Place. The fuel caught fire causing an undetermined amount of damage to parked cars and property in the area.  The drivers of both cars were removed to area hospitals with unknown injuries at this time.  The investigation is ongoing.
