Deer Park Construction Worker Injured in Hicksville Accident

Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a serious auto accident that occurred in Hicksville on Wednesday, 12/17/14 at 2:48 P.M.

Hicksville, NY - December 18th, 2014 - Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a serious auto accident that occurred in Hicksville on Wednesday, 12/17/14 at 2:48 P.M.

According to detectives, a male employee, 55, of Tri-State Paving, 377 Carl’s Path, Deer Park, walked northbound on the sidewalk at South Oyster Bay Rd./Walter Ave., to assist other employees placing a portable traffic sign onto the trailer hitch of the truck, when he stepped off the sidewalk and was struck by the truck,  that was slowly backing up.

Nassau County Police Ambulance transported the aided, who suffered multiple fractures and internal bleeding to a local hospital, for treatment. The aided is listed in critical condition.

Detectives report no apparent criminality at this time.  The investigation is ongoing.
