Green Vale’s 1st Grade Entertains with “The Polar Express” Play
Old Brookville, NY - December 18, 2015 - In celebration of the holiday season, the Green Vale 1st grade class entertained their peers, parents and faculty with a stellar performance of “The Polar Express” on Wednesday, December 9. The students rehearsed for six days leading up to the grand performance under the guidance of their teachers Sarah Hossfeld, Jessica Katsoulakis, Patty Kim and Janine Murray. The cast learned their lines, which included advanced vocabulary to tell the story, and learned verses to several songs. The production was a collaboration between multiple disciplines including art and music, which enhanced the play’s energy and sense of wonder. Music instructor Marla Peltzer taught the children the music that weaved through the story, while art teacher Lauren Privitera’s scenery created a winter wonderland set. The faculty involved with this event stressed the value and importance of working together for a finished product.
