Mediterranean restaurant Limani Grille opened in the location of the old Bonwit Inn, a staple in Commack for decades. Sadly, Bonwit Inn closed amid the Covid pandemic like many other old-standing favorites. In its place Limani Grille hopes to shine with a new decor for its 8,000 square foot interior and a fresh menu.
According to an article in Long Island Business News, the restaurant, run by Spyropoulos Hospitality, also owns Limani and Limani Mezze in Roslyn and Oniro Taverna in Woodbury.
On Yelp, Vivian R, of Huntington Station, gave it five stars.
“The restaurant is beautiful. It has an upstairs party room, full bar and spacious bar with plenty of tables which are socially distant,” she wrote. “We love the fact that the entire staff are wearing masks and they have plenty of parking.”
She loved the drinks and her food did not disappoint.
“The cocktails were amazing. I had the Petalouda which I would highly recommend,” she said. “We started off with baked clams which were absolutely delicious. The clams were whole with an oreganata bread topping. The crab cake was plentiful and delicious. For dinner I had the octopus which was so tender and perfectly prepared. My husband had the salmon which he requested well done. The sorbets for dessert were perfect to end the evening at LIMANI Grille. Definitely a must try.”
