AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. The Crimes Against Property Squad reports two arrests for Grand Larceny which occurred on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 8:50 A.M. in Rockville Centre.

Rockville Centre, NY - December 19th, 2013 - The Crimes Against Property Squad reports two arrests for Grand Larceny which occurred on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 8:50 A.M. in Rockville Centre.

According to detectives, beginning in October 2013, Michael Richards, 29, of 904 Albany Avenue Apt.5, Brooklyn and Shalane Haynes-Grant, 22, of 1764 Bedford Avenue Apt. 35, Brooklyn entered the Rite-Aid located at 168 N. Village Avenue on several occasions with various fraudulent credit cards re-encoded with fraudulent bank account numbers and purchased numerous gift cards and merchandise causing a loss of over $60,000.  At the time of their arrest Richards was in possession of at least 16 fraudulent cards and Haynes-Grant in possession of at least 11 cards.  They were arrested at Rite-Aid without incident.

They are charged with Grand Larceny 2nd degree and 11 counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree.  Richards is being charged with an additional 5 counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree.  They will be arraigned on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at First District Court in Hempstead.
