Woodbury, NY - December 20th, 2013 - The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Wyandanch man for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 7:30 P.M. in Woodbury.

According to detectives, Second Precinct officers responded to the FJC Security booth located at Eagle Chase and Sunnyside Boulevard Extension where Manuel L. Melendez, 28, of 48 State Avenue, a former employee, was found to be in possession of several small bags of heroin and $3000 in cash.  He was placed under arrest without incident.  During processing it was discovered he had an open New York City warrant.

Melendez is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and will be arraigned on Friday, December 20, 2013 at First District Court in Hempstead.
