Three People Shot During Vigil in Coram

Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that injured three people at a vigil in Coram last night.

The victims are not pursing charges. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

Coram, NY - December 20, 2016 - Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that injured three people at a vigil in Coram last night.

Sixth Precinct officers responded to Judith Drive at 9:40 p.m. after a resident reported hearing gunshots. Upon arrival, officers determined three men had been shot during a vigil in memory of a victim of a motor vehicle crash.

One victim, a 25-year-old Coram man, was transported by a private vehicle to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Two other victims, a 19-year-old Coram man, the brother of the 25-year-old victim, and a 26-year old Amityville man, were transported by Coram Ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The victims are not pursing charges.
