Update - December 29, 2014 - Homicide Squad detectives identify the 17 year old male as Kashyan Patel of Hicksville and the 26 year old male as Nicholas Zarzana of Mount Sinai.
Hicksville, NY - December 23rd, 2014 - The Homicide Squad is investigating a fatal vehicle accident that occurred on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 11:37 p.m. in Hicksville.
According to detectives, a 17 year old male driver was driving a 2003 Acura westbound on Old Country Road when he collided with a 2000 Volkswagon making a left turn out of Antun’s Catering, 22 W. Old Country Road occupied by a male driver 26 and two male passengers 24 and 26 years old. The collision caused the Volkswagon to strike a third vehicle, a 2012 Toyota Prius driven by a male 55 years old. The driver of the Volkswagon was ejected from the vehicle into the roadway where he was possibly struck by a fourth vehicle heading eastbound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Acura skidded across the road and struck a tree where the driver was also pronounced deceased at the scene. Both passengers were transported to an area hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
