Freeport, NY - December 27, 2016 - Major Case Bureau detectives of the Crimes Against Property Squad report the arrest of a Bay Shore woman for incidents that occurred beginning in 2014 in Freeport.

According to detectives, Ana Carrera, 46, of Bay Shore, while employed as an office manager was also responsible for handling medical billing for the office of Twin Country Podiatry, 33 North Ocean Avenue.

Beginning in 2014 till the present, Carrera stole incoming insurance checks, endorsed them with her name and deposited them into her personal bank account. A subsequent investigation revealed that more than 300 checks were stolen by her causing a loss of more than $58,000.00 to the business.

Carrera surrendered herself to detectives and is charged with Grand Larceny 2^nd Degree. She will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 12/27/2016.
