The Third Squad reports the arrest of three male juveniles for an incident that occurred on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at 9:10 PM in Westbury.
According to detectives, a 72-year-old male victim, while operating a taxi, was dropping off the three male defendants at 1504 Old Country Road. When they reached their destination, one of the defendants displayed what appeared to be a firearm and removed US Currency from the victim’s pocket. The males then fled the scene on foot. Responding officers conducted an investigation and the defendants, ages 15, 13 and 13, were located nearby. They were taken into custody without incident. An imitation firearm was recovered from one of the defendants.
The 15-year-old defendant is charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Title 90 – Mask Transparency Act. He will be arraigned on Friday, December 27, 2024 at First District Court, Hempstead.
One 13-year-old defendant is charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Menacing 2nd Degree and will be arraigned on Friday, December 27, 2024 at First District Court, Hempstead.
Second 13-year-old defendant is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Person under 16 and will be arraigned at Family Court.
