Long Island, NY - December 29, 2017 - Suffolk County Police Commissioner Timothy D. Sini and Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder are announcing a crackdown on motorists driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol for the New Year’s Eve holiday weekend.
As part of the continuing effort to keep Suffolk and Nassau County roadways safe and free of intoxicated drivers, the police from both departments will have additional officers on patrol on New Year’s Eve. Patrols will be deployed throughout the Nassau and Suffolk police jurisdictions using STOP-DWI grant funds.
Suffolk and Nassau Counties actively enforce DWI laws and take a zero-tolerance approach for anyone driving under the influence and placing the public in danger.
Suffolk County Police Commissioner Sini and Nassau County Police Commissioner Ryder wish everyone a happy holiday season and urge drivers to use proper judgement to keep our roads safe and to not drink and drive.
