ELEVATED RISK FOR FIRE SPREAD THURSDAY The combination of low relative humidity values between 20 and 30 percent and wind gusts 20 to 25 mph will create an elevated risk for fire spread across the region on Thursday. Exercise caution handling any potential ignition sources, including machinery, cigarettes, and matches. Any fires that ignite will have the potential to spread quickly. This forecast considers meteorological, fuel, and land conditions and has been developed in coordination with state fire and land management officials.

Students enrolled in the William Floyd High School Cosmetology Academy, part of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program, recently welcomed guest stylist Guy Yuhas of the Kevin Maples Salon in Southampton.

Mastic Beach, NY - December 30th, 2014 - Students enrolled in the William Floyd High School Cosmetology Academy, part of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program, recently welcomed guest stylist Guy Yuhas of the Kevin Maples Salon in Southampton.

During his visit, Mr. Yuhas did haircuts and up-dos and discussed various aspects of the cosmetology industry with the students. He is also a former student of Cosmetology teacher Wendy Joyce, who noted that Yuhas is a past winner of the Skills USA Regional and State competitions, as well as a top five national finalist.
