The Eighth Squad reports the arrest of a Wyandanch man for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance that occurred on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 12:52 pm in South Farmingdale.
According to detectives, officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at a South Farmingdale residence. Upon Arrival, the female victim, 53, informed officers she had an argument with her son and he left. Officers located the subject and determined an Order of Protection was violated. Defendant Rorenise Toafili, 30, of 19 Washington Avenue, was arrested without incident. Defendant Rorenise Toafili was in possession of a white rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine.
During the investigation, it was revealed that defendant Rorenise Toafili was at the same South Farmingdale residence on Friday, December 27, 2024. While in the backyard, defendant Rorenise Toafili used a lighter to shoot a large flame at a 1-year-old English Bulldog. He additionally grabbed the dog by its excess skin at the neck, as he twisted and pulled the dog off the ground. The dog tried to bite defendant Rorenise Toafili to get free.
Defendant Rorenise Toafili is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree, Harassment 2nd Degree, Torturing or Injuring an Animal and Aggravated Cruelty to Animals. He was arraigned on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at First District Court, Hempstead.
