AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 11 PM EDT MONDAY The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following counties: New York, Bronx, Kings, Queens, Richmond, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam. from 11 AM to 11 PM EDT Sunday. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The Air Quality Index, or AQI, was created as an easy way to correlate levels of different pollutants to one scale. The higher the AQI value, the greater the health concern. When pollution levels are elevated, the New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. NCPD reports a Robbery that occurred in Franklin Square.

Franklin Square, NY - December 31, 2018 - The Fifth Squad reports the details of a Robbery that occurred on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:50 p.m. in Franklin Square.
 
According to detectives, two unknown male subjects entered a residence on Madison Ave. Once inside, the subjects, carrying a crow bar and a silver hand gun, confronted the 45 year-old male victim and demanded he open his safe. The victim complied and the subjects took an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. The subjects also took two cell phones from the premises. The males then exited the residence and entered a dark colored 4-door BMW and drove westbound on Hempstead Turnpike.
 
The first subject is described as a male black, 5’6” tall and heavy set. He was wearing dark clothing.
 
The second subject is described as a male black, 5’8” tall with a medium build. He was wearing dark clothing.
